• I have found, if we tolerate a few pests, the beneficial predators will take care of the majority of the pests.

  • Birds will eat a lot of insects.
  • If we use broad spectrum pesticides, we kill the beneficial insects as well as the target pest. Who will pollinate the flowers, so we get fruit, if we kill all the bees?
  • Birds, which eat the killed insects, may be harmed. Who will eat the aphids, if we kill all the predators?
  • When we knock out all of nature's defenses, the pest outbreaks become worse than before.

Natural Predators will control insect pests, if we obey the laws of Nature.

  • Plants require Sunshine, Water and nutrients.
  • Roots carry nutrients to the plant via water.
  • Compacted roots cannot grow well and take up nutrients efficiently.
  • When plants die, they decay and turn into nutrients.
  • Decayed plant material is organic matter, which is food for plants.
  • Organic matter helps soil retain moisture.
  • Organic material makes the soil loose so roots thrive.
  • Weeds are easier to pull from soil that's full of organic matter.
  • Soil which does not receive enough organic matter, will run out of nutrients, become compacted and dry out faster.
  • Mulch generously with Grass clippings, Straw, Bark, Wood Chips, Corn meal, Cocoa Bean Hulls, Peat.
